Every journey begins with questions. The Coastal Guide was created to provide clear, reassuring information so you and your loved ones can feel informed and confident when considering care at Breakthrough Recovery Centre.
How much individual therapeutic support will I receive each week?
Every person arrives with a different story, which is why care at Breakthrough Recovery Centre is thoughtfully personalized.
Clients typically receive:
- Two individual sessions each week with their primary counsellor
- One individual session each week with their secondary counsellor
- Access to physicians support based on individual clinical needs
The frequency and type of support may be adjusted as treatment progresses, ensuring each client’s care continues to reflect their needs, goals, and stage of recovery.
How long is the Breakthrough Signature Program?
Our residential treatment programs begin with a minimum four-week stay. 4 week, 6 week, 8 week extensions are available our clinical team will work with you throughout your residential stay to determine what is most appropriate for each individual based on needs.
The most appropriate length of stay is determined through careful consultation with the client and our clinical team. Recommendations are based on each person’s needs, circumstances, recovery goals, and progress throughout treatment.
There is no single route to recovery. Our role is to help each client chart a course that feels purposeful, supported, and sustainable.
Is treatment at Breakthrough Recovery Centre covered by OHIP?
Breakthrough Recovery Centre is a private, fee-for-service residential treatment facility. As a result, our programs are not covered by OHIP or funded by the provincial government.
Some private insurance providers may offer partial or full coverage depending on the individual policy. Our admissions team can help you understand the information you may need when speaking with your insurance provider.
Flexible payment arrangements may also be available. All program fees, payment schedules, cancellation terms, and refund policies are clearly reviewed before admission.
Where is Breakthrough Recovery Centre located?
Breakthrough Recovery Centre is located in Wasaga Beach, Ontario, near the calming waters of Georgian Bay.
Our thoughtfully designed residential setting welcomes adults travelling from communities across Canada and internationally. The peaceful coastal environment offers space to step away from daily pressures, regain clarity, and focus fully on healing.
Virtual services may also be available where permitted by professional licensing and regulatory requirements.
Can residential clients leave the centre during treatment?
To maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment, residential clients may not leave the premises unless accompanied by an authorized staff member.
Supervised outings may be incorporated into an individual treatment plan when approved by the clinical team. These carefully planned experiences allow clients to practise newly developed skills, build confidence, and prepare for life beyond residential care while remaining supported.
Unsupervised outings are not permitted during residential treatment.
What expectations help protect the safety of the community?
A calm and secure environment is essential for meaningful healing. Every client is expected to treat fellow clients, staff members, and the centre itself with dignity and respect.
Breakthrough Recovery Centre maintains zero tolerance for:
Bringing alcohol, drugs, or other prohibited substances or contraband onto the property
Sexual misconduct of any kind
Physical aggression, verbal threats, intimidation, or violence toward another client or staff member
A violation of these expectations may result in immediate discharge without a refund, as outlined in the client’s code of conduct and admission documentation.
